Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

BrainBucks ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of children and their parents. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable law — including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

1. Who Uses BrainBucks

BrainBucks is designed for children to use under direct parental supervision. Parents or legal guardians create and manage all accounts. Children do not create their own accounts or provide any personal information directly to us. All registration and account management is done by the parent.

2. Information We Collect

Parent account information:

Child profile information (entered by parent):

We do not collect a child's full name, date of birth, school, address, phone number, or any government identifier.

3. How We Use This Information

We do not use any information for marketing, profiling, or behavioral advertising. We do not sell data to third parties.

4. COPPA Compliance

BrainBucks is operated in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All child profiles are created and managed by a verified parent or guardian.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without parental consent, please contact us immediately at privacy@brainbucks.fly.dev and we will delete it promptly.

5. Advertising

BrainBucks may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Because this site is child-directed, we have configured Google AdSense to serve non-personalized ads only. These ads are not targeted based on any user data or browsing behavior. Google may use cookies to limit how often the same ad is shown; no personal data about the child is used for ad targeting.

For more information on how Google handles data in child-directed contexts, see Google's advertising privacy policy.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use a session cookie to keep parents logged in. This cookie contains only a session identifier — no personal data. It expires after 30 days or when you log out. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

7. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Your account and all associated child profiles remain until you delete them. You can remove a child profile at any time from the dashboard. To permanently delete your parent account and all associated data, contact us at privacy@brainbucks.fly.dev.

9. Parent Rights

As a parent or guardian you have the right to:

To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@brainbucks.fly.dev.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of BrainBucks after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
